If you're in the market for a compact, lightweight camera and lens that can deliver high-resolution still images and 4K video, the Samsung NX500 has a lot to offer, particularly for travellers. But buyers must be prepared to do without an EVF, which is difficult when shooting in bright outdoor lighting.

The frame cropping associated with both 4K movie modes is also problematic without an EVF since you have to switch on the preview mode to see what will be covered when the field of view is reduced. The lack of external microphone and headphone jacks further limits the camera's usefulness for serious movie shooting.

Connected photographers should have little to complain about, particularly if they already own Samsung smart devices. Like the NX1, the NX500 is among the best connected cameras on sale today.

Well, edges depend mostly on the lens :-) And ISO 200 comparison make little sense.

The camera is with a huge discount now, $599 kit in all the major retailers.

NX500 is real gem, and most people overlook it same as happened with NX300 and NX300M at a time.

If they only release firmware improvements frequently, like they do with the NX1...only a lens firmware until now.

Well, press them. Find their contacts in your region and make a call. Ask to do same other people.

Feedback page is most useless crap you can do. As it is checked by some indian guy one a month.

I'm not convinced about his look with skin human, I prefer in that aspect the A5100 or A6000 even not record 4K.

One thing that I know is that any skin color argument for modern camera is bullshit. Can be applied to any camera (and believe my experience - it is ALWYS applied by someone to any new camera!) if you want and can be not applied :-)

I dont refer to skin color, is the look, I cant express it well, but maybe some a kind of softness, tessitura. For example is the same with my GX7 in vivid mode, the skin look have a strong aspect, in standard is more soft.

Do you actually understand number of settings this cameras have?

I only comment about I see. But I havent doubt that it is a great camera and there are few videos to draw conclusions.
