As the nx500 has no VF, people need a loupe of some kind. I know people insist the 3" screen works "great" in sunlight. For me is doesn't. So I got the Kamerar qv-1m -- for mirrorless. It's a nice unit but out of the box does not work with the 16-50 f2-2.8 pro lens. You have to cut or grind off about 30% of the baseplate (the one without the magnet). It may work with the kit lens out of the box, I didn't test it, but the barrel of the pro lens block the mounting. For 60 bucks it's a viable option
it's not bad but the main point is that it has a tiny base plate, which is super helpful for the issue you have.
Does anyone now of a way to get record 4k video and also get a wireless feed to a tablet?
dunno if this price is legit but it's almost triple what I paid for mine. These are brilliants cameras. https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Wireless-Mirrorless-Digital-16-50mm/dp/B00SYKXMKS?psc=1&SubscriptionId=AKIAJBX6LJVII7QNQNYQ&tag=imgr-reviews-price-page-new-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B00SYKXMKS
NX500 and NX1 cameras price only rise :-) Like Bitcoin.
These cams still selling at a premium. How is it there are still "new" units for sale? They stopped making them a few years ago. right?
Old stock that sellers couldn't shift?
Sellers just hold to the stock as it sell at big premium.
btw, for any h265 shooters, the dinky $50 dollar cyberlink powerdirector will edit your 4k h265 just fine. I'm using an ancient Dell xps 8500 with a radeon 770 and it works pretty good. a lot of power in the NLE for the $$. Just click shadow files and pick a resolution that plays smooth.
Magix editors are also fine for HEVC, they also have hardware encoded HEVC export using Quicksync and NVENC.
Turns out Dell xps8500 with radeon 770 graphics and i7 3770 3.4ghz lags during preview on Powerdirector 16 on longer project. Is it possible to put a new graphics card and pws instead of getting whole new machine?

Try any 10xx series Nvidia cards. They have both decoding and encoding for HEVC.
I need a wide angle lens for my nx500. I like what I've read about the value of the Rokinon f2 12mm. There are some out there on the market with the nx mount. Q: since Samsung no longer makes cameras, would I be smarter and more forward looking to buy a Rokinon with a Sony or Canon or whatever mount and then add an adapter? This NX500 won't last forever.
Can buy second body as backup :-)
If you have nice set of lenses, why move?
No plan to move but eventually these cams will run out of gas. Being that the Rokinon is manual focus/aperture, should I go with a Nikon mount, having a adapter won't really matter right?

Eventually all of us will run out of gas. :-)
And this cameras will be actual at least for 10 years ahead.
