Atomos just dropped the retail price of both the Shogun (to $1495) and Ninja Assassin (to $995): http://www.atomos.com/enewsletter/2016/feb/atomos_enewsletter_feb_2016.html
Course this comes on the heels of Convergent Design dropping the price of the Odyssey 7Q+ to $1795 (including 256GB SSD) last month. Not to mention the 7" Video Devices PIX-E7 which has recently started shipping at $1595.
Atomos probably felt they had to lower their prices to stay competitive.
Certainly is nice to have a lot of options for portable monitor recorders and to see them becoming more affordable as well.
As you can see in post above yours kit with 240gb SSD cost really same as bare recorder.
Hi everybody! Is anyone also unable to connect a mic directly to their Shogun? I've tried everything until I was convinced that it had a broken Lemo-connector. But it just came back from their German service center with a new breakout cable. And I still can't get it to work. What could be going wrong here.
The setup is: Shogun, breakout XLR cable, Rode NTG-2 / RodeLink.
This is driving me mad...thanks! :)
Works here. Does the mic work with another device with XLR input? Are the settings right in the Shogun?
Hi! Try diferent inputs on Shogun, mine works line (-40), be sure the micro is not muted, it's easy to press that button sometimes. Hope it helps
Any suggestions for a cheap sunhood for the original shogun?
