  • The head of Resmed medical device maker appeared on Cramer today and said the 1000 machines Musk said he would be donating were five-year old Resmed BiPap breathing devices, usually used to treat sleep apnea, which I presume were bought in bulk at deep discount.

    Ouch.

  • B. Gates

Long before the drug hydroxychloroquine was approved as an emergency treatment for covid-19, people started hoarding it, making it hard to find for lupus patients who need it to survive.

Well, it is free market, they just lost in competition. Right Bill? You are strong proponent of this, what s wrong now? :-)

  • Amazon has banned the sale of N95 and surgical masks to the general public, claiming it would restrict sales to hospitals and government organizations dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Capitalism at its best.

And now Amazon also destroys tens of thousands of businesses that sold items via Amazon under pretence of proper priority.

  • S. Fauci says that the United States will not come out of lockdown until there are no “new cases” of coronavirus, prompting some to question precisely how long that will be.

This can turn into genocide. Where media will talk about coronavirus and people will die intheir homes.

People With Intellectual Disabilities May Be Denied Lifesaving Care Under These Plans as Coronavirus Spreads

Advocates for people with intellectual disabilities are concerned that those with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism and other such conditions will be denied access to lifesaving medical treatment as the COVID-19 outbreak spreads across the country.

Several disability advocacy organizations filed complaints this week with the civil rights division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, asking the federal government to clarify provisions of the disaster preparedness plans for the states of Washington and Alabama.
  • fux...they want to get rid of the smartest people ....95% of european deaths were over 60..... https://thehill.com/changing-america/well-being/prevention-cures/490844-95-percent-of-coronavirus-deaths-in-europe

  • A graphical analysis of the European monitoring data impressively shows that, irrespective of the measures taken, overall mortality throughout Europe remained in the normal range or below by March 25, and often significantly below the levels of previous years. Only in Italy (65+) was the overall mortality rate somewhat increased (probably for several reasons), but it was still below previous flu seasons.

On March 30, we mentioned the list of Italian doctors who died „during the Corona crisis“, many of whom were up to 90 years old and didn’t actively participate in the crisis at all. Today, all years of birth on the list have been removed

In recent weeks, most of the Eastern European nurses who worked 24 hours a day, 7 days a week supporting people in need of care in Italy have left the country in a hurry. This is not least because of the panic-mongering and the curfews and border closures threatened by the „emergency governments“. As a result, old people in need of care and disabled people, some without relatives, were left helpless by their carers.

Contrary to media reports, the register of German intensive care units also shows no increased occupancy. An employee of a Munich clinic explained that they had been „waiting for weeks for the wave to hit“, but that there was „no increase in patient numbers“. He said that the politicians‘ statements did not correspond with their own experience, and that the „myth of the killer virus“ could „not be confirmed“.

German constitutional law experts are raising the alarm for „serious encroachments on fundamental rights“. Constitutional law expert Hans Michael Heinig warns that the „democratic constitutional state could turn into a fascist-hysterical hygiene state in no time“. Professor Christoph Möllers of Berlin’s Humboldt University explains that the infection protection law „cannot serve as a basis for such far-reaching restrictions of citizens‘ rights of freedom“. According to the former president of the German Federal Constitutional Court, Hans Jürgen Papier, „emergency measures do not justify the suspension of civil liberties in favour of an authoritarian and surveillance state“.

  • @Vitaliy...that site says it's devoted to propaganda research, which makes it also a propaganda device. Here's more accurate stats. https://reason.com/2020/03/17/italian-daily-death-rate-up-20-because-of-coronavirus-lombardy-up-about-80/ ...and this is two weeks old, when there were only reporting 350 deaths a day. And recent news in the last couple of days says the numbers in Italy have been under reported because many nursing homes and similar circumstances haven't been included in the death count. This meme that corona isn't adding to the death stat is bs.

  • @kurth I don't think they care how smart you are but that's a bunch of social security checks they won't have to write here in the US more money to give to corporations. Not to mention all the rights they will take away for our own good. I'm sure some are looking at this as a win win situation.

  • @Scot...well si, but I was looking at it from my pov ! ...and if I die, they'll bury me in the backyard and keep collecting the checks !

  • this shxt wouldn't have happened under rafael correa....guayaquil today....burning bodies in the street....

  • On capitalists medicine

We don't rise to the level of our expectations, we fall to the level of our training.

  • Makaroshki always cost the same (c) our stupid ruling class, 1 year B.C. (before coronavirus) :-)

  • Farmers across Europe bank on improvised armies of pickers to save harvest, as coronavirus lockdowns have stopped migrant workers from arriving to carry out the work.

Fruit and vegetable crops in Spain, Italy, France, Germany, the UK and other countries risk rotting in the fields

This will be Act 2 of our drama. Main media try not to focus too much on this, as it is till possible to save and no one wants this.

  • Fujifilm Holdings Corp says it has developed a new test for the coronavirus that reduces the results time to about two hours.

The test was developed by subsidiary Fujifilm Wako Pure Chemical Corp and will be released on 15 April, Reuters reports.

The SARS-CoV-2 RT-qPCR Detection kit will be able to deliver results for the virus that causes Covid-19 faster than existing polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests, which presently take four to six hours, the company said.

Actually "qPCR" in the name here means quick PCR :-). So it is nice marketing bullshit made for goverment.

You can check https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/23732/coronavirus-ruling-class-100-control-tests to see that with modern qPCR machines test is performed exactly in 1-2 hours.

  • Australia’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Brendan Murphy has said worldwide cases of Covid-19 could be “five to 10 times” higher than the one million known currently.

Again, this significantly change statistics (and this is why all goverments try to break law as much as possible to avoid reponsibility). I am sure upon examination youll find that up to 50% of all documents had been never signed.

Coronavirus Fact-Check #1: “Flu doesn’t overwhelm our hospitals!”

Those of you who have spent any time debating or discussing the current coronavirus “pandemic” on social media will almost certainly have encountered an argument that goes something like this: “Coronavirus is nothing like the flu, the seasonal flu doesn’t overwhelm health services like this.” But is this true? We’ve done some research.

In 2018 hospitals all across the United States were full to capacity with flu patients. Alabama declared a state of emergency. Elective surgeries were cancelled, patients were turned away.

    https://time.com/5107984/hospitals-handling-burden-flu-patients/

    https://dfw.cbslocal.com/2018/01/08/hospital-overrun-by-flu-cases-having-to-turn-them-away/

California hospitals were “war zones” where people were treated in hastily erected tents.

    https://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-flu-demand-20180116-htmlstory.html

The same year ICUs in Milan were “totally overrun” with flu cases.

In December of 2019 the NHS had to implement “emergency temporary beds” in 52% of its hospitals to account for their regular “winter crisis”. Most of those hospitals still had temporary beds operating from the previous winter. Last November experts were publishing reports warning that the NHS was under too much pressure to deal with the seasonal flu.

The 2009 Swine Flu pandemic turned out to be no worse than a bad flu season in the end, but nevertheless had a huge impact on hospitals across the United States. Going by just the last couple of years, the evidence suggests flu severely impacts health services quite frequently.

Raising the question: How does the current state of ICUs compare with these other recent crises? To which, we must remember, no one ever suggested the solution was destroying the economy and instituting a police state.

  • Ok...here's the problems with coronavirus naysayers. Not one of them has had corona...zero. They're talking out the left side of their assholes. I haven't read one article by someone who was seriously affected by corona that says to not take it dead serious. Two...most are already, and have been for many years, conspiracy theorist, and being one of those myself, it's easy to see their intellectual flaws, although some think they're even immune from intellectual flaws. They've been doing it for so long...i.e. not believing anything govts say, that it's impossible for them to accept that the wolf has really come to town. So apparently even conspiracy theorist suffer from normalcy bias. For example @jleo's last post from off-guardian. This site is known in conspiracy circles and only presents opinions that supports it's pov. The article on it's front page of 10 experts...not one is a frontline doctor treating corona. So, when one person who's spent a week in ICU with corona, or one frontline doctor who's treating these patients, tells the world that corona is no big deal, then that'll be something to seriously thing about. But that's unlikely to happen. Otherwise, every person who gives their belittling pov about corona, like some who say it doesn't even exist, or comparing it to the flu, or criticizing govt's responses, or thinking it was some lex luthor planned strategy which is far more dangerous than the virus itself...when one of those people survives the virus and then comes and tells us these things, after they've spent a week in ICU and watched some body bags being carried out....then we can pay more attention. I'd like to hear one person from Guayaquil, or northern Italy, or Madrid who thinks it's fluff. Just one, while they're standing in front of those corpses in the street. Otherwise the rest is just gas escaping their backsides.
