Other Panasonic cameras have the same overheat warning, despite not generally overheating. See the specifications section on the GX85:
Surely the GX9 will have the same performance as other Panasonic cameras with regards to overheating.
It is GX85. What other cameras have such text?
I never saw it for G or GH cameras.
By idea it is one of strongest marketing points of m43 Panasonic cameras, why do such stupid thing as save on proper heat transfer design?
@Ezzelin Yeah--now that you mention it there was an overheat warning for my GX85 but I have never seen it come on even after hours of recording.
In Japan camera is called...drums... GX7 Mark III .
@DrDave the GX9 JPG quality looks very similar to the GH5, even a very slight better I'd say. Colors are a little bit different buy it may be due to an Imaging Resource change in light?!
The in-camera compositing feature is very intriguing, I'd like to see it implemented in other cameras as well.
As far as rumors go it has exactly same LSI and sensor, just less ram and slower running cores.
@Vitaliy_Kiselev , the very slight difference between the GH5 and GX9 images may also be due to sensor sample variation, who knows?
I read a lot of criticism about it, but I think the GX9 a nice little camera, especially for the launched price.

I hope they introduce a proper GX8 upgrade soon.
This is a standard temperature disclaimer. Here it is in the G85 specifications: http://shop.panasonic.com/cameras-and-camcorders/cameras/lumix-interchangeable-lens-ilc-cameras/DMC-G85MK.html#pnsb2c-pdp-specifications
It's also in the G9 specifications (down in the notes section, third from the bottom): http://shop.panasonic.com/cameras-and-camcorders/cameras/lumix-interchangeable-lens-ilc-cameras/DC-G9KBODY.html#pnsb2c-pdp-specifications
I'm not the hugest fan of this camera and would prefer it had an articulated screen, microphone port, a customizable wheel instead of an exposure compensation dial, and was $200 less, but this headline is misleading.
But did not see it in PR before.
Still it is all recent releases. May be it is some new manager who insert this by lawyers advice for safety?
This camera probably generates more heat, indeed - if now its 4k video is oversampled from 20mp.
From what I remember, when people complained about the size of the GH5, Panasonic said they had to make it that big to prevent overheating.
So if they put the same sensor and processor in a smaller body, it makes sense that it would overheat.
How similar is the video for the GX9 Compared to the GX80/85. It mentions a more recent Venus engine tweak but how different is the video. Does the GX9 make its 4K from the full 20mp like the GX80/85 does from the 16mp? Using the PL 15mm or the 12-35mm, for example, do we see any difference in the video quality? Can anyone do a comparison of GX9 and GX80/85 video.
