New Sony a7S II / a7sII / A7S 2 12.2 MP WIFI 4K Full Frame DSLR for $2199
The above price is no longer available. However, Sony is having an official sale on all of its alpha products - cameras, lenses, and all accessories. It has two additive components:
Instant discounts. For example, $300 off the price of the A7s ii.
Trade-ins. Trade in any camera or lens and get 15% off the pre-discount price of alpha cameras and lenses.
Example:
Trade in a 12.5 mm f12 (!) 3D Panasonic lens that only works with the Panasonic GH3. Get $35 and the 15% coupon. Then your savings on the Sony A7s ii = $300 + $450 (0.15*$2000) + $35. You pay $2215, and you get the official Sony Warranty and can buy anywhere you want - most official Sony stores are participating.
This same deal works with any Sony lens, so you trade in another worthless lens (like the old Panasonic 14-42 PZ kit lens, which does not work with dual IS 1 or 2 and has been supplanted by better kit lenses) and get $150 + the 15% coupon, good on any lens (which are typically discounted by an additional $100). You could get the Sony/Zeiss 24-70mm f4 lens for almost half price with little fuss (yes, you might get more for the lens on ebay, but you won't get the 15% coupon, which is worth more than the lens in many cases).
Do you have a link to the Sony sale, @markr041?
Low-light museum, suited perfectly to the A7s ii, using EOSHD Pro Color settings, the FE 28mm f2 lens + UAW adaptor (21mm). Shot using f4. If you listen to the audio, you will learn about some recent breakthrough discoveries.
It is a low-light beast - night video:
ISO=12800 in most clips.
The other A7s ii trick: FullHD slo-mo:
Jegichagi and break-dancing.
Music recorded live by the camera (Franz Liszt and drums (not together)).
Sony A7S II with an FE PZ 28-135mm F4 G OSS for International Space Station
Neato, but why use that lens??? Wouldn't fastest lens possible be the ultimate? Is there really a need to use a zoom? Is it the camera/lens combo intended to be attached to a telescope?
Because it is all remotely controlled, hence good PZ lens.
