Rumors are that upcoming at NAB is new URSA with global shutter, and removal of global shutter was necessary to set new camera apart.
That doesn't sound correct.

May be, rumors are such. This is that I got in two private talks.
I'm under NDA so it's really difficult for me to say either way sometimes :-)

did they change the price now that it doesn't have global shutter?
Yeah they really have some gall taking preorders for the global shutter version and then shipping without the GS and no price reduction.
And I've seen people in other forums making excuses for blackmagic! I'm not sure how you can defend a classic bait-and-switch. The global shutter was a huge part of the appeal and now they don't even seem apologetic about the whole situation.
I am sure that they will have NAB or post NAB reductions.
BM is known for making NAB center stage and I am sure this year they bring some big surprises.
you mean surprising announcement
That's probably the best video I've seen of it.

VK, they might do that for their older cameras, but not their BMMCC or 4.6K cameras. As they're too new. Maybe in 6 months time, more likely in a year from now is when we'll see a price reduction.
My prediction (at a wild guess.... ) is the BMCC and BMPC4K will each get a further $500 permanent price reduction. I hope the BMPCC will too, but I doubt it.
Wow. But where is global shutter?

No global shutter, but it seems to be pretty fast.
