Adapting small EVF through HDMI

Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows if someone has tried to adapt something like a samsung evf-10 to work with a mirrored dslr through hdmi? I really miss the GH1's evf and I would love to figure out a way to get a small/low profile evf on something like the Nikon D5100 without having a large loupe...
