Xiaomi has officially announced a new computer monitor - a model with the designation XMMNT27NU for professional users. This is Xiaomi's first 4K panel with a resolution of 3840x2160 pixels.

The monitor measures 27 inches diagonally. High color accuracy is Pantone Validated. It claims 99 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and 100 percent coverage of the sRGB space. Supports 1.07 billion color reproduction. The monitor has a Delta E <1.

It complies with the VESA DisplayHDR 400 standard: brightness reaches 400 cd / m2. Low Blue Light technology with TÜV Rheinland certification is implemented, which reduces eye fatigue by reducing the intensity of harmful radiation in the blue part of the spectrum.

The stand allows the panel to be used in landscape and portrait orientations. There are two HDMI 2.1 interfaces, a DP 1.4 connector, a USB Type-A hub, and a 3.5mm audio jack. In addition, there is a USB Type-C port with the ability to transfer up to 90 W of energy: using a single cable, you can connect a laptop to exchange data and recharge the battery.

The device is priced at $ 550, but it is available at launch for $ 470.

  • The price is big for a higher resolution screen (not needed at 27 inches) and a better foot stand. The 1080p Mi 27 inch desktop monitor probably has a comparable image quality in sRGB at normal viewing distances, for much less money.

As far as I understand Xiaomi had issue making 32-40" 4K monitors as companies who make panels almost stopped making them to not create competition. Apple can also had a lot with it, as it has enormous influence. Now companies want to keep this for premium gaming monitors and some expensive models.

Agree with what you say! And browsing through other companies offerings, the Xiaomi offers very good specs at lower prices.

It's only that their 27 inch 1080p Mi desktop monitor is a real bargain by comparison if you don't need HDR. :)
