you can enable color management in some browsers, but do I agree that we need a universal standard. complications with apple colorsync doesn't help any but I think in principle, that adaptive gamma would be useful because watching a video on your phone in bright daylight is going to look different than in a dark living room.

In Windows color management for video playback is like endless black hole.
For example, it can be in decoder settings, in renderer settings (like MadVR or EVR) and further in GPU driver.
