I assume thats the chart for higher female life expectancy. You also know that Russian males are among the biggest drinkers ? Could the high consumption of vodka have something to do with this ?

Mostly it is not huge issue. And consumption is going away quite fast.
Largest difference is due to deaths of pretty healthy man in their 30-40es and not due to alcohol, but due to stress and overwork.
