It is new fully proprietary and patented connector that Nvidia will start to use in all their top of the line cards (this year already).

Nvidia idea is to charge all power supply manufacturers for right to use such. As well as selling adapters and modder versions.

evil, genius but evil, lol. it would almost be an anti-trust case except you have one other radeon option. maybe radeon can do the same, and the consumer is the loser. let's also do it for hard drives and cpu's.

$4 cost to manufacture at volume
$6 payment to Nvidia
$30 profits and taxes
