That's very nice focal range. Inner zoom?
Depending on the price this could be the perfect lens to compliment my Tokina 28-70 2.6/2.8
Btw, current 12-24mm is one of the most undervalued lenses.
Last month's $349 deal for 12-24mm was just insane...
I have one of the 12-24 ones coming in right now! Any word on when this new one might come out? I can't find anything online.

Tokina published approximate release time in Japan - April and also price.
We’re pretty damn impressed with the image quality, feel, and focusing speed of the Tokina 12-28mm f4. If you’re an APS-C DSLR shooter, then you’ll love to mount this lens on for landscape, architectural, and overall scenic views. And for the price point, Tokina seems to have an extremely awesome killer optic.

12mm. Sharpness in the centre of the frame is already outstanding at maximum aperture. The performance towards the edges of the frame improves rapidly as the lens is stopped down.
20mm. Performance is similar in the centre of the frame, and clarity towards the edges of the frame is improved at maximum aperture. Peak sharpness across the frame is achieved at f/8 for this focal length.
28mm. Performance is consistent with other focal lengths. Sharpness in the centre at maximum aperture remains excellent and clarity towards the edges of the frame is good.

I must say that I regret selling my 12-24mm a couple of years back. I felt f4 was a bit slow and I had just moved to GH2, but I've come to realize that it was actually a damn fine lens for the price. Speed boosting it on a GH2 would be fun to try out too.
Tokina put up uniformly Excellent-range SQF numbers, and in our DxO Analyzer 5.0 distortion tests, it significantly topped the scores of the earlier 12–24mm f/4 (0.32% barrel distortion compared with 1.22% barreling at 12mm, for example.) The Imperceptible-range pincushion distortion at 20 and 28mm and near absence of edge falloff were remarkable.

Weighing in at more than half a kilo, it is quite a large optic, especially with the supplied lens hood fitted, but it does deliver distortion-free images at virtually all focal lengths, impressive for such a wide-angle lens. The images are a little soft in the centre and corners at the maximum aperture of f/4, but stopping down to f/5.6 improves things in the center, with f/8 and f/11 providing the best overall combination of center and edge sharpness.

the new canon 10-18 with IS at $300 is beyond a steal
It is Canon, not very handy to adapt it.
