I recently wrote about upcoming tablet using Retina screen (from iPad 3) and RK3066 chip.
Other manufacturers already started making quad code tablets.
They are based on Freescale i.MX6Quad, containing 4-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU, L2 1Мб cache, and 4-core Vivante GC2000 GPU.
Tablets using this LSI:
Here is Ampre A10 (10" tablet with 1280x800 screen):
Yep, and you can just add simply fast microSD card to extend build in memory :-)
$207 shipped at AliExpress.
Again, it has HDMI output, OTG, microSD slot, and is 10" 1280x800 IPS screen.
Would love HDMI -in. The MHL-based HDMI output of my Galaxy Note N7000 works surprisingly well, considering it is coming from a micro-USB connector :-) Keep an eye on "MHL compatibility" for any micro-USB port these days...
Again, it has HDMI output,
I think it was pretty clear :-)
No tablet has HDMI In.
As for mentioned tablet it has dedicated Mini HDMI.
PandaWill will have sale on monday, with four core tablet going for $186 shipped, 5 items only
http://www.pandawill.com/happy-hour/?current=monday
But after this 7% discount will be valid all day also (but it is not really too interesting as price is not batter than aliexpress, and aliexpress sellers ships much faster).
Interesting... it would be nice to have a portable keyboard option with something like this... and a decent word processing application in Android. I tried Polaris office, and it wasn't good!

You don't need 4 cores for word processing, RK3066 is enough (and will be faster, most probably).
As for word applications (of whole office suites), check Google Play, many free or very cheap packages exist. Choose one you like.
Check something like http://www.pandawill.com/window-yuandao-n90fhd-dual-core-tablet-pc-97-inch-retina-screen-rk3066-android-41-1gb-ram-32gb-dual-camera-white-p68958.html
We have topic about Retina Chinese tablets, usually they are cheaper on aliexpress.
I got Ampe A10 quad core and really like it.
Works ok, screen is good. I wish it had 4.1 or 4.2, not 4.04, but hope that they'll make an update (right now they posted two updates on site).
Another chinese quad core tablet
Uses Exynos 4412.

This is more close to truth, but DG also favour Taiwan based brands, as I do not believe in so small 4 quarter white box grow, and so large grow of other brands, all will be in reverse.
Shipments of China makers' branded and white-box tablets destined for the local market are forecast to reach about 15 million units in 2012, while those destined for overseas will climb to as high as 44.15 million, Digitimes Research said. In total, shipments of China makers' branded and white-box tablets are estimated at nearly 60 million units in 2012, Digitimes Research indicated.
New correction :-)
Interesting statistics, isn't it? With mainstream media ignoring the fact that white box tablets performed better than all iPads combined, and are going to wide the margin even further.
@Vitaliy_Kiselev "I got Ampe A10 quad core and really like it." Do you still like this tablet? How would it compare to Nexus 10? Buying today, what is your choice?
Most probably, Nexus 10 is better as overall tablet. But it cost much more. And as I remember it has no MicroSD slot.
One issue with Chinese tablets is smaller battery run time even with same bettery (as it requires very big work on software for optimization of power modes, etc)
I just received my Ampe A10 quad core tablet 3 days ago. So far I like the screen & the build material. However, there is a problem with the microSD slot. I tested it with a sandisk 64GB class 10 card, the tablet has problem to read it. I format the card under NTFS & then exfat but the tablet still failed to read it. Then I tried with a 8gb card with fat32 format & it can read it fine. Wonder anyone has the same problem. Anyway I will dig out my 32gb card & try again.
ok. I just did some test on a 32gb microSD card. Tested under NTFS, fat32, & exfat. This Tablet with firmware 1.58b will be able to read the card under fat32 file system ONLY. So if your video file is larger than 2gb, you can't copy to the card. VERY SAD ... hope Ampe will fix this problem on their next firmware .....
You format from computer or camera? Thanks for your notes.
From my windows xp PC ... I have both internal memory card reader & an USB card adapter. I also have the Ampe A10 with Allwinner cpu, it can read my 64gb card under NTFS without problem.
It us known issue for this specific firmware.

Not much fixed, but some.
Here is very interesting PDF about Freescale processors
Ainol Novo 7 Venus quad core, $155 shipped
Btw found very useful things:
They have different directions, and allow to insert USB memory stick to use with any of this tablets. useful, especially with tiny USB sticks where you can just attach it permanently to such adaptor.
Sharp has stopped shipping iPad panels, the people with knowledge of the near total production shutdown said
Macquarie Research has estimated that iPad shipments will tumble nearly 40 percent in the current quarter to about 8 million from about 13 million in the fourth quarter, although Apple's total tablet shipments will show a much smaller decrease due to strong iPad mini sales.

First, Apple failed to rise shipments in Q4 from this data (compared to Q3). They are pushing mini, as cheaper option.
Second, competition become strong with media feeding from big marketing budgets and trying to to show full picture.
