New MFT lens from Jackar optical, looks interesting! Stepless aperture ring, and cheap too!
Exactly how cheap? I can't find a price
$190 on fleabay
Looks like those super cheap 35mm c-mount lenses on ebay rehoused with a permanent adapter, rebranded and bundled with nice hood and leather case. If it had gears...
I understand irony.
But here is big issue - same lens is available in E mount, so hardly it is C mount lens rehoused.
And F1.8 is not really an 'ultra large aperture'
Vitaliy, what do you mean? There are dozens of nex->c-mount adapters out there.
Yep, but this is promoted as E mount lens, so it must cover APS-C without problem.
Otherwise I just do not understand it.
From what I've seen $20 Fujian 35mm 1.7 manages to cover APS-C sensor and pretty much doesn't vignette (or just bit wide open).
LOL! Bet you the box and case ensemble cost more to manufacture than the lens.
Let's see how soft it is on the sides wide open, compared to the Fujian. The Fujian is almost unusable for wide shots unless you almost stop it down completely.
Looks like they sell generic lenses similar to Digital Concepts, Optex etc.
@VK The uber cheap Fujian 35mm f1.7 does indeed cover the Nex sensor. I have one :-)
This Jackar looks like a rebranded version (with a adapter/chubby ring attached to it) of the cheap lens. Just like the SLRmagic one is (except they claim to of added multicoating)...whatever.
It´s easy to check, just find a picture of the aperture. The Fujian aperture is easily distinguishable. I don´t think the bokeh looks like the Fujian but I´m sure there are differences between samples for such cheap lenses.
@brudney
please post the link for that samples. I saw samples of Fujian 35mm which vignette on the APS-C sensor like hell, actually just the same way like adapted Nokton 25mm f/0.95 (to Sony E-mount) - where the image doesn't cover whole sensor, the corners are black.
