Yep. Still, that's pretty huge price variability within a 24-hour period. They have added info to the product description it seems. This system does come with a lens support included, which is a nice touch. By the way, they have what appears to be a version of this system without the quick-release plate for $118. Do a search on Ebay for "rail support" and it should come up.
I ordered the quick release version. It's good and I got it mostly for the lens support which is nicely built. The screws all fit snugly and everything locks down tight.
The only issue I have with it is that the quick release plate doesn't have a release button. It's just a knob to tighten or loosen the camera. Sure it works but it's not very safe. If the knob gets bumped loose, the entire camera could slide right off, in either direction!
It's a nice, cheap little rig for mounting matteboxes etc but I would probably switch out the quick release plate for a more "pro" version. If I use the one it came with, I'm always going to be paranoid about my camera sliding off.
This looks very similar to a Chinese rail system I bought off ebay a few months ago for $120. The biggest difference is the locking screws--these look better than mine which just are okay but not special. Mine at least is solid chunk of metal, it works, and sure it's the same lens support, something I haven't used once.
Well after what Xenocide38 said I was thinking about it and I thought do i really need quick release? Cant I just take it all off the tripod anyways?...Thinking if I go this route, Ill just buy the fixed plate one...
Ultimately the price difference isn't that big of a deal. It is a functional quick release just a little worrisome. Either way you go, you'll probably be satisfied if you just want a little rail system like this.
@No_SuRReNDeR Non-QR certainly seems the best option; the QR with it isn't the most sturdy and its incompatible with anything else. If you buy the non QR you can then add the QR adapter of your choice, without raising the camera so much.
@Ptchaw, first thanks for the link! Now I'm capture a guitarplayer with a blue background for keying this way ( 90 deg ) I can use more pixels for my object. One of lens I use is my canonlens 24-70mm with adapter, unfortnately this lens has no tripod ring and is very heavy so I need too a solution for that, I found this http://www.testberichte.de/p/marumi-tests/stativschelle-universal-pro-mas-1174-pro-testbericht.html but it looks not very pro.
