Best video compact se;ection general topic.
I think best compact is FZ-200 (that is not so compact) :-) - http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3937/panasonic-fz200-topic-24x-zoom-with-constant-f2.8-aperture
or check ZS20, but it has many shortcomings (as all small superzooms).
+1 FZ200 .. on paper .. and held in hand at shop last week.
If I shot weddings it would be on an FZ200
The Kodak Zi8 does 1080 30p @ 20Mbps
And?
This is forum mostly about video, with quite many people who work professionaly doing things in this field.
So, FZ-200 suggestion has some basis :-).
I just looking for bang/buck cheap ratio.
I do not understand all this "bang/buck ratio".
You have certain goals, so you need tools that can deal with your goals.
Of course, you can choose something that is more pricey or save some money and go cheaper.
But it does not mean that you need to get crap.
Either you want to ask some advice, or you want to talk with yourself.
Make it clear for yourself first, ok?
You just suggest another crappy thing :-)
I thought Camcorders had much better video quality than compact cameras...?
Please check again topic title you made yourself :
Best Compacts for Video
I won't continue flame about camcorders here.
It seems like you have big issues as most your topics and posts iareconstantly about choosing cameras and absolutely different ones :-)
No doubt ... Sony-RX100.
No doubt ... Sony-RX100.
Let's try to live without "no doubt".
As for RX100, it is more like HDSLR with fixed lens (short standard zoom slow at the long end), no viewfinder and no mic input :-)
What's the best HD Video quality available under $400? Any kind of camera.
I am not talking in such terms, as it is utterly stupid.
lol, i cant belive this guy. @QuinEtiam are you only searching on this thread, or are you really investigating all this camera stuff? Lol vitaliy, hard as usual, but funny though.
Canon S100 does 1080/24p @ 38 mbps, which is almost double the bitrate the LX7 offers, and has a built-in ND filter. Plus, it's last year's model, so it's super cheap now.
Usually very noticeable interlacing is a sign of having the field order wrong. As in, even fields first when it should be odd.
I cleared topic from all offtopic contents.
Ban will follow for any next attemp to post it.
Does anyone know if the FZ-200 would intercut well with GH1? Is the detail level and color close enough to not be too obvious? Thinking of maybe adding an FZ-200 to the toolkit.
