Hi guys,
I've been looking for a cheap softbox/diffuser solution to make the light from a 312 bicolor led more pleasant looking and keep the eyes of the actor from burning out. There's a lot of stuff on ebay but being an available light kind of guy I'm a bit lost.
Any recommendations? I would buy from anywhere but prefer a european seller/shop.
Thanks a lot!
You might want to consider this http://theeditman.com/blogg/default,page,1.aspx Or Just clip some diffusion paper from ROSCO or LEE over the 312.
That's exactly what I was after. I’m definitely going to take a look at that.
Thanks!
What about a snoot? DIY?
I reckoned some Cinefoil will do for snoot. You can mold it, shape it, size it any way you want. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/44690-REG/Rosco_RS100113_Matte_Black_Cinefoil.html
Thanks @pixcanfly
See @jdn's approach. http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/comment/36670#Comment_36670
I guess @atticusd is trying similar approach? I'm interested in mastering two 312 bicolor LEDs.
I like the "theeditman.com" solution - looking for the right softboxes now on Ebay.
Let us know if you find anything!
Re: Snoots, I made one for the 312s with corrugated plastic sign board (just ordered a sheet from a school supply store) and a few rare earth magnets. It just snaps on to the front. I had to put some extra diffusion thing plastic half way down which took out the lines/points you get when you put barn doors or anything else on led lights.
Can you please upload a picture of your setup? Thanks.
Any updated?
all i could find were these:
i did a quick check and it looks like it'll work but i haven't had a chance to properly mount them yet, gotta figure the best way to do it.
I manufacture inflatable softboxes for LED lights!! What's the dimensions of that unit?
Just found this one: http://www.led-video-lights.com/softbox-for-312-led-video-light
