Thanks Perder!

The ones I got work as advertised (show battery meter and cut off when discharged). Also recharges with original charger. First shipment took about 12-14 days to Norway. Second shipment is on it's way, I assume they take about the same time and that the quality is the same.

Thanks lsf2000. I guess we only need to wait for the retailers to start advertising them.
Thanks, this is really great! Energy crisis averted. OT: er det bare meg, eller er det mange Nordmenn på dette forumet?
@perder: OT: Aner ikke, ser ut til å være minst 2 ;-)
Not sure if anyone has ever used these: http://www.duracelldirect.com/panasonic_Lumix-DMC-GH2_batteries_digital-camera_B-9781.aspx?KEYWORD=Panasonic%20Lumix%20DMC-GH2%20Camera%20Battery&utm_source=Amazonshopping&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Camera%20Battery.
I spoke with a representative over the phone today and she confirmed that they are decoded and will display the battery's info on the GH2's lcd. She also confirmed that they will function properly with the Panasonic charger. They come with a 1 year warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee. I figure it's worth a shot so I'm ordering a pair of them. I'll let you know how they work once I get them.
Also, if you enter coupon code "DD8" you'll get 10% off your order.
I checked merchant reviews for the site and they're all pretty positive. :) Guess I'll be posting my review in about a week...
@pinger007, I was watching those as well, but they are twice the price and only 1200mah. Other then that they are probably fine. Decoded batteries seem to pop up all over now, so expect to find many of them in the coming months. I have a hope that whoever makes these: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/4G-Technology1/BATTERY-GOLD-/_i.html?_fsub=2165757010&_sid=766922950&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322 will make a GH2 battery, that would rock. They are somewhat expensive for the latest 2430mah cells, but these are very small, they keep the same size as original batteries with close to 2 times the capacity. if they could do that for the GH2 it would make my day :-)
PS. If anyone know who makes those "gold" batteries please let me know.
I asked the seller on eBay if more of the 1600mah batteries were on the way..and he (tianlin2010) told me to order the 3x 1400mah batteries and he would send the decoded 1600mah batteries. He shipped them yesterday (from Hong Kong), I'll report back whenever they get here.
These are the batteries he had me order: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280783347912&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123
@StevenTrillberg: Did you pay 29$ or 19$ ?
@lsf2000 I paid $29.99
I just ordered two of these, the seller said they are decoded and show the battery level in camera. I hope so. I post if they work.

Not so thurstworthy anymore: http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/comment/40651#Comment_40651
@ehr: The seller seems to be thrustworthy so far, so if he says they are decoded then I think you should be good to go :-)
@StevenTrillberg I just don't understand why they don't state that clearly (i.e. that they are decoded). When I sent a pm to tianlin2010 asking about the 1600mah batteries he pointed me to the above 1400mAh batteries. But when I replied that they don't state they are decoded he just didn't reply. So I really don't know what to think. But I look forward to your report. Mike
Guys, can you attach all the photos of checked batteries. Ones that can be charged in original charger and display level.
@Mike_C Same here. I could never get a straight answer about the decoding from tianlin2010, but I did received confirmation from duracelldirect. For me, the extra cost is worth it for the piece of mind.
@Vitaliy_Kiselev I'll post photos and a review once I have the product in-hand.
Talking about the battery meter showing or not, I wonder if this is a check that the firmware does with an XOR operation or something (like ... if it's Panasonic, go to address X, else go to Y). Hmmm ... I'm not a coder but I wonder if it were possible to hack the firmware to instruct the call to always go to X (if you see what I mean).
@Mike_C I sent him a follow up message asking for clarification before I ordered, and he replied with this:
"Hi YES,now this batttery is decoded version,can show battery level in your camera LCD,have a good day sir
We'll see...
@StevenTrillberg Thank you
Bad news guys, the second batch I got today reports: This battery can not be used!! They look EXACTLY like the first batch!! I'll ask the seller what is going on on EBAY now, but untill he comes up with some good answers, stay away from ordering any from the lastest batch from tianlin2010!!
@lsf2000 Roger that! :)
The ones I got do NOT show battery level (but other than that, they appear to work OK). How annoying.
Thanks Perder. So we have to assume that such seller is NOT reliable.
@perder so yours from the latest batch do not shut down the camera? This is very strange, I wonder what is going on with this seller.
No time to leave them running for a while, but they both powered up the camera fine, took some pics, no issues.
