Asahi Super-Takumar 50mm f/1.4 Review
The article has it's flaws, it doesn't take into account format size, at least not as far as I got into it.... but still interesting info about the 50mm:

Just finished a project in 8K with Sony A1. My 50mm Minolta F1.4 held up very well, has some Minolta 3D good ness, and, amazingly, autofocus works fine the Sony adapter.
Any screengrabs @DrDave ? I also have a Rokkor-PG 50mm 1.4, but I don't particularly like the MD mount. Prefer M42's or contax mounts.
I have been looking for a sharp contrasty 50mm that’s manual ,EF adaptable and has smooth circle iris at 2.8 and f4 any affordable options? Vintage can be an option also if it adapted to EF and has circle iris at 2.8-4
@sammy If by "smooth circle iris" you mean rounded blades, then you want a lens with at least 8 aperture blades.
I have used a manual SLR Magic MicroPrime at 35mm with 13 aperture blades, very smooth circle. SLR Magic also has the 50mm T1.2 with 13 aperture blades in full frame (Image Circle : θ44) but only for E and X mounts.
These lenses are extremely high quality. Bright and sharp at the cost of weight. I shot side by side with an older Takumar 35mm and there was simply no contest. The SLR Magic was worth the price. If I were to sell all my vintage lenses, that's what I would buy. I only wish they offered an older mount (m42/contax comes to mind) so that they could be adapted to anything. I don't like to lock myself into Sony/Canon/Fuji mounts.
edit: they also have the APO-MicroPrime CINE and APO-HyperPrime CINE in EF mount. 10 blades T2.1
