Japanese Blog DC.life claims it’s nearly impossible for Panasonic to sell the camera business even if they wanted it. No other camera manufacturer would even consider to spend money on an acquisition. The solution for Panasonic is to simply cut costs and/or to expand into other business like drones and security.
Or just close shop, as Samsung did with cameras and LG with phones.

On Weibo Panasonic published the official letter from the director Yosuke Yamane. In this he writes:
- They have no intention to sell the Lumix business
- Theyare committed to grow both the FF and MFT format
- After the GH5II and Gh6 they will release more impressive products
