Looks like Sony got off the tracks and trying to make xbox/iphone thing.

I have DS4 controller, its good thing to use with video editor and is more solid/functional than Xbox controller, but now that bluray is gone for streaming, the concept of home entertainment computer lost favor to gamey thing?

That custom ssd controller might be the trick, but the big motherboard is good for heat spreading. They could done it 1/3 of the size. Good one Sony. Very separated chips and propped design for long use
