Japanese prices
Pretty outrageous price for a nifty fifty
New Nikon and Canon systems will have highest margins lenses.
To be fair, the Sony/Zeiss 55/1.8 is more expensive.
Yeah, but that's Zeiss. Sony 50 1.8 is around $200.
Two Extra Dispersion, and two aspherical for such a simple Lens.
Well Done
Lens is delayed until mid December.
Official shipping date now is December 7th.
Expensive, very expensive. Then the 85mm will cost more than U$1,800 dollars
They think ist a nearby Leica market.
You did not see Panasonic lenses prices yet. Nikon will look like entry level offers compared to any of them.
During one of the meetings they discussed role models for new FF system - all of them are from top 1.5% by income. Their plan is to have same profit on one body that Sony is making selling 3-4 A7III/A7rIII (and this is also high margin cameras).
Review
In center sharpness is extremely high even at the widest aperture of f/1.8. It remains impressively sharp throughout the aperture range, becoming a little softer on very close examination at f/11, and slightly softer again at f/16. Edges of the image are almost as sharp, with the best results seen between f/2 and f/11.

The price is outrageous, but really not much worse than the Sony 55/1.8 ZA.
New firmware
Exposure for photographs taken with Continuous H (extended) selected for Release mode is now more consistent (Z 7/Z 6 camera firmware “C” version 2.00 or later).
