Sad that these are discontinued. I've been shooting a lot of close overheads of hands working for tutorials and the E1 would have been perfect for it. Doing it with a G85 right now. I've been checking B&H every day or so just in case they get one last shipment in.

Adorama have my old one. I know they didn't give me even nearly this much on trade-in. You should contact their sales folks and see how much they can come down on it. :)

Note that you can look for used G7s on ebay.

As for E1s we'll have two teams and one review set using them. They are little weird cameras, of course. But we'll see

Yeah we're using a G7 right now. Switched out from the G85 just to free it up for other use. The E1 would just be nicer to be working in close proximity to because it's a lot smaller. We were comparing them on a camera size comparison site. It's probably fine though. It's money we don't need to spend and can still record with what we've got.

The Yi M1 is not much bigger and if you keep an eye on the price, it sometimes drops to around $250 with a lens - video quality is fairly comparable.

M1 issue is stability and sometimes strange behaviour. You really do not want to use I where you need reliable camera.

AUTO MISINFORMATION: The Bots still think the Zcam E1 is still available. Almost everytime I check CNN News the ads push New Styles of Zcam E1 available ! Too bad, not true :)

@markr041 back on page 4 you stated that the E1 is recording in UHD 24p at 23.976, but, I am finding it's not syncing with my other cameras at 23.976 on a Multicam shoot and Premiere reports it's actually recording at 23.98 fps... Any insight where this spec came from?

@all @markr041 I'm not the only one who has found an issue with sync at UHD 24P, FB E1 user group member Nathan Backous has been posting about it for 1 year and he reported it was not fixed in the 0.30 FW update. If audio & video are not in sync, then Plural Eyes cannot sync the E1's picture to that of other cams in a Multi-cam scenario...

And there's more "interesting" user reports. Maybe in 2019 the FW fixes will come for the camera released in 2015...

Thing that we can observe here is small company making huge error due to looking at the large Japanese guys.

They seem to not have resources to pull off E2 launch properly and already abandoned large user base they had for E1.

I am bad feeling about this.

They have made a promise and it looks like they may stick to it yet... and it looks like they will fix the 4k audio sync issue.
