whether phone manufactures actually implement 10bit 4k is a whole another story, most phone never fully utilize the SOC's power
Yes, we'll definitely need to see if a phone company is willing to implement it. At least we know that the technology is their to do it. I read that Samsung have already bought a lot of the first batch to be put in the Galaxy S9. Wont be long to find out what Samsung and Xiaomi will do with the chip. With Apple putting 4K 60p into the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X, shooting in 10 bit is one way to counter Apple in the video shooting department. Basically it would be in those company's best interest to have their phone shoot in 10 bit 4K 60p videos. With that said, hopefully it's not like the GH5 in which it can shoot in 10 bit but not if you pick 4K 60p.
