Lens has extreme aberrations due to very bad manual design.

Leica apparently got tired of designing sharp high-performance lenses and decided to charge the same price for a very bad lens.
Carefully redesigned to provide a high standard of poor image quality.
I like it. It's different.
I only buy this lens for U$90 or less, for resell it to the Leicafans by U$5,000. This is literally garbage and I love Leica lens.
With old and cheap lenses you get an organic and better images.
If the image samples looked good I would think it's a nice lens. The images sample don't look good. I can get soft glowing out of focus images without buying a new lens!
Seems like a collector item, or a special case lens that can be mostly replicated with an image filter.. but perhaps it's more useful for those shooting on actual film
Its a joke.
Is it April 1st?
it is April 2nd
After laughing at the price I looked at the portrait shots you linked, some nice ones there, I like the "swirly bokeh" (serious technical term) backgrounds in some of the shots, others just looked like wide open shots that were too soft....then I laughed at the price some more
