I have been researching this for 2 days now and have drawn a blank. I need a tablet to run Panasonic Image App. The tablet should have USB 3 ports to copy the SDXC card data to a 2TB ext. HDD.
I had originally decided on the Chuwi Hi8 for its 1920x1200 screen and USB Type-C connector. Turns out the Image App may not work on Android on Intel, and the Chuwi implementation of the Type C only gives USB 2.0 speeds.
Also, Android ARM tablets only have the USB 2.0 micro connector. Its really frustrating..
Can someone recommend an ARM Android tablet with USB 3.0 host functionality ?
EDIT :- Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 has USB 3.0 - but its a huge tablet.
How about a windows tablet like Dell venue 11 pro:

install chrome browser, install ARC Welder by google, run android app, profit. You'll have more options too, and if you're hot on native android - you might be able to get android x86 on it. (Not so sure about android USB 3.0 file transfer being a reality)
Venue 11 Pro gives only 500ma on USB 3.0 so it will not power a 2TB portable HDD -

> USB3.0 port. The full-size port improves the ability to connect peripherals. We could not charge a Windows 8 tablet via this port but we could charge a Nokia Lumia 920, even in InstantGo mode. We suspect 500mA output on the USB3.0 port. >
I think Chuwi Hi10 with full size USB 2 and USB 3 with ARC Welder should solve the problem.
Apparently this BIOS fix allows usage of HDDs - https://techtablets.com/forum/topic/chuwi-h10-32bit-to-64bit-upgrade-v200-hardware/
Does anyone know if Panasonic Image App connects to G7 using ARC Welder and Chrome ?
BIG PROBLEM
Panasonic Image App does not work via AMIDUOS
AND
Note: ARC is no longer supported on 32-bit x86 platforms and those platforms will no longer receive updates after October 13, 2015. All ARM platforms will continue to work and receive updates.
So, none of the Intel tablets will work :-(
Right. I guess the best option is the 5.7 in galaxy note 3 with 1080p screen. Model N9000 N9005.
Also, the USB 3 apparently works only with the original Samsung 2A charger plugged in. And the drives need to be FAT32. May work with the Paragon App - NTFS and HFS+ for Android
EDIT :- Turns out the Note 3 has separate Snapdragon and Exynos models, and some of them do not support USB3 OTG. - http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=3798
Snapdragon 800 - a quad-core chipset clocked at 2.3 GHz - while the others will receive Samsung's homemade Exynos 5 Octa, running on 1.9 GHz.
@zcream Thanks for posting your findings. Though I have no solution for you, it is a problem of interest to me.
I am going to buy the N9000 Exynos version and test USB3 transfer with an OTG cable...
> Samsung has released two versions of Galaxy Note 3 - N9000 with Exynos 5 Octa & N9005 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset. Now the question is which one is better?
Well, Note 3 N9005 has 4G LTE support & the video recording is upto 4K ie 2160p resolution, where as Note 3 N9000 supports 3G, the recording capability is up to 1080p.
The CPU & GPU are also different, so I have run AnTuTu 4 benchmark on both of these, you can check the result in the video. Here are the details - Samsung Galaxy Note III sports 2.3 GHz quad-core Krait 400 (N9005) / quad-core 1.9 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 (N9000) processor & Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (N9005) / Exynos 5 Octa 5420 (N9000) chipset, Adreno 330 (N9005) / Mali-T628 MP6 (N9000) GPU, 3GB of RAM & 32/64 GB of storage on both.
For the record, I want to separate the movement and the operation of the G7 camera as I am collaborating with an older Director - 73 yo.
And the same device will be used to backup the video files to 2x USB 3.0 HDDs - hence the requirement for USB 3.0 host.
Another device with USB 3.0 host - Voyo A15 tablet..

Based on the Samsung Exynos 5 chipset. I am checking to see if the USB 3 port supplies 900ma and if the speeds are actually rated USB 3.0
Chromebook does not work :-
I was less than impressed when the Panasonic Image App failed to see my camera. I haven’t been able to test the Philips Hue app yet but already there’s confusion and uncertainty building-up.
Some apps can’t be installed.
Some apps are useless without smartphone hardware features.
Some apps will install but won’t work.
I note again that this feature is being tested here in an pre-release, unstable version of the software
