I just picked up the camera at my local store. Sold the Panasonic FZ1000 some months ago when I heard the news about this camera. It feels so much better in hands and offers so much more quality. An awesome bridge camera. I am impressed.

I love this camera. Picture quality is pretty awesome. Anyone knows if the manual is to be found online? I have the carton not at home... I need to figure out if there is a way to focus during video recording ONLY when half-pressing the shutter button. Possible? Also I need to figure out the HFR recording thingy...I always end up with a clip of a fixed length and the dispay freezes and I have no live view of what I want to film in slowmotion. I may sound now like I am not making any sense but maybe someone has the same problem?

@Bernie thanks! interesting read. Just one thing I couldn't figure out: "You can set the aggressiveness of focusing acquisition" Where can I do that?

Kind of surprised in the studio test to see some smearing of fine detail at base ISO--I compared it to my GM1.

Some more observations from a guy using the camera to make a living

After using this camera on a long project and several one day projects, and having edited hours of 4K and 1080p footage I can honestly say that the only thing you'll likely miss are physical controls to control sound levels, and the ability to get very narrow depth of field. For the money it's a great video camera and I'm happy to use it for a wide range of shooting situations, including typical run and gun stuff.
