The camera with its compact kit lens makes a great combo for street photography
I found the picture quality to be excellent for a Micro Four Thirds camera, with low ISO shots in particular being very sharp with crisp, fine detail, great color rendition and good dynamic range. At higher ISOs, the GM5 does very well, again, for a Micro Four Thirds camera. Sure, larger sensored cameras are going to handle higher ISOs better with lower noise. However, given the size of this camera, it can easily compete with or outclass many other pocketable compact cameras that often have much smaller sensors resulting in much lower image quality.

GM5 comes up with bigger image quality than its size suggests it should. It produces very nice photos with little input from the user, but those who want to take control over exposure settings will find that the camera won't fight back.
GM5 packs a huge amount into its small form factor and perfectly combines the advantages of a small compact with the adaptability of interchangeable lenses. For anyone who already owns a larger Micro Four Thirds model and wants something they can carry in a pocket without sacrificing performance, handling or features it really is a no brainer. It's a compelling alternative to a large sensor compact and I can see it's compact proportions swaying first time buyers who might have been considering a bigger system camera.
As expected, the image quality produced by the Lumix GM5 is excellent. The images are bright, detailed and punchy, even when viewed at full resolution.

Quick question in case any GM5 owners are lurking here... When the electronic/silent shutter mode is turned on, is there a limit on the maximum ISO that can be selected? I'm thinking about purchasing and for various reasons it's an important consideration for me. Thanks! R
