The Inspire 1 captures H.264 at 65 Mb/s with a 20mm lens, super low distortion while keeping the wide perspective.
We just implemented the option for DJI-LOG, so you have the option to open up your dynamic range from 8-stops to 12-stops of latitude.
- Full 4k @ 23.976 / 25p
- UHD 4k @ 23.976/25p/29.97p
- 1080p @ 23.976/25/29.97/48/50/60
- 720p @ 23.976/25/29.97/48/50/60
Trees, grass, other fine structures still look mushy. Would love to see a uncompressed raw option or at least something that is not long GOP. H264 is still no acquisition codec IMHO.
The Inspire with a gimbal for the pocket cam would be a first step in the right direction.

This! And all under 5KGs. From the footage I've seen I'd still prefer the GoPro 4 in ProTune over the Inspire1. From my wallet too. ;-)
The Inspire 1, in spite of all of its complex systems, just works. It’s the most amazing RTF (ready-to-fly) system I’ve ever seen for aerial cinematography and it’s also super fun to fly.

Inspire 1's new M43 camera module, kiss goodbye to gopro sensor!
Official DJI announcement tonight. Spy photos here - http://www.sb-dji.com/?p=8931
Interesting, but I am afraid of the price.
@Vitaliy_Kiselev There is a rumor it will be $1200.00 for the plug-in camera module w/gimbal. There's some speculation they may drop the current Inspire package price to as low as $2000.00 and the new system will remain at the current $2900.00 price with the upgraded m43 camera. Just speculation at this point though (or wishful thinking).
@tron hope that rumor is true. Would love to see a price drop on the Inspire1
@Xenocide38 Same here! I love my little P3 Pro, but the added aircraft speed and camera flexibility that the Inspire would allow could facilitate just about any shot imaginable. I think the biggest limitation will be the flight time now, which is estimated at around only 10-12 minutes with the heavier camera module. Perhaps they have a new battery design ready for release as well, we shall see.
I will definitely get the camera upgrade for my L1, though still pissed that L1 didn't get follow me like p3 does
With the handgrip I can use it as 3 axis gimbal on land, so probably gonna sell my current handheld gimbal.

4K RAW Video, interchangeable lens mount
I have really enjoyed filming with the Inspire 1 over the last 6 months. Am really looking forward to seeing what the X5 can do.
Here is the last short film including quite a lot of X3 footage. Hope you enjoy:
