I think topic for post is wrong (as it is not about G7 and more about your computer setup).
Any modern computer can play 4K footage very good (using Intel DXVA) and with very low CPU load. Any issues and such must go to players and codecs settings.
G7 kits are available in PV deals and price dropped today

Note that it is both NTSC and PAL bodies, PAL do not have 30min limits in AVCHD only.
NTSC bodies are unlimited (including 4K and all).
Is there any PAL G7 which does not have a time limit on any of its recording modes??
Nope
Send petitions to Panasonic. Just make sure to sent it many times, as due to low camera sales they now have big budget cuts on toilet paper.
I'll fax it through over and over! ;-)
You mean that you want to stop their whole business?
As from my experience most managers still do not know how to use email.
And they now save on fax paper also, even more than on toilet one.
I am looking to upgrade to a G7, with one of my primary goals to record long music concerts.
I live in USA, so I would be using an NTSC version.
After reviewing the posts in this thread and online reviews, I am still confused by the video recording time limit.
Most reviews I have seen state that the 29 minutes applies for videos in all regions.
I guess AVCHD format videos can be longer in USA, but are limited to 1080p, not 4k.
Vitaliy_Kiselev has said that the G7 offered on PV deals can record long videos: "NTSC bodies are unlimited (including 4K and all)."
Are these G7's on PV hacked, or were these pre-release (early firmware) units, or has the spec changed, or what?
Looking for a clear answer!
Thanks in advance.
@Johnplanetz I shoot live events and concerts as well and would like to know as well.
@Vitaliy_Kiselev I'm not seeing the body only in the link above, are they still available?
It was on gear topic, I fixed usual deal wiki page
Just a first test with my new G7, an d 14-140mm. Edited in FCPX.
So I bought a G7 camera from here, and I can confirm that I was able to record 4K mp4 video past 30 minutes. I've attached a photo showing a recording in progress past 30 minutes. I'm still not sure how or why this works, but I'm happy about it.
@ezzelin What size/class card were you using to get it to record past 30min? We just bought one off of B&H and it stopped at 29:59 on 4k/mp4. Not sure if the card matters.
OR Is it really just the G7's bought here like @Johnplanetz said, "Vitaliy_Kiselev has said that the G7 offered on PV deals can record long videos: "NTSC bodies are unlimited (including 4K and all).
