Ive had my desktop for past 2-3 years and ive upgraded a few things But Id like to get a laptop i think for more portability. Id keep the monitor , keyboard mouse ect. I like the way my current system edits footage an plays games Will the laptop I want to get be very similar?

current specs:

also really want a thunderbolt port 15.6" would fit in my Ty 2 Ogio Bag with my camera I think and if I got a 17" I could put it in my other bag.

I think I can get around $1200 for my whole tower? minus the monitor.

yea Ive seen that laptop alot of times, I rather get the Sager.

The New 5th generation Broadwell 5700HQ Quadcores are out now for laptops. The MSI GT72 Dominator Pro G-1445 is what I will hope to be getting in the next 2 to 3 months its only $1499. The only downside, at least with the MSI Dominator Pro G line, is that you can't get a GTX 970 with more than 3G of ram for under $2000. However the MSI Dominator Pro G line has a MXM architecture which will allow you to upgrade your graphics card later if you chose to. Here are two links:

are those gaming laptops generally bulky and not convenient to travel with? and i wouldn't want to travel with a 1500$ laptop. i might just go with a desktop and a tablet for dumping files when on the road.
