Amazon Unlimited Size Photos Backup - $12 per year

    Amazon today announced unlimited cloud storage with Amazon Cloud Drive—two new storage plans for customers to securely store their existing content collections and automatically upload endless amounts of new content, including photos, videos, movies, music, and files. With the unlimited plans, customers no longer need to worry about how much storage is needed to keep their content safe and secure—they can choose either the Unlimited Photos Plan or Unlimited Everything Plan and only pay one flat fee per year. A free 3-month trial is available for customers to try either plan:

    • Unlimited Photos Plan (free 3-month trial, then $11.99 per year—equivalent of less than $1 per month): Store an infinite number of photos in Cloud Drive without worrying about taking up space on phones, cameras, or other devices. Customers can upload existing collections and store all future photos taken. This plan also includes 5 GB of additional storage for videos or other documents and files.
    • Unlimited Everything Plan (free 3-month trial, then $59.99 per year—equivalent of less than $5 per month): Store an infinite number of new and existing photos, videos, files, documents, movies, and music in Cloud Drive.

    “Most people have a lifetime of birthdays, vacations, holidays, and everyday moments stored across numerous devices. And, they don’t know how many gigabytes of storage they need to back all of them up,” said Josh Petersen, Director of Amazon Cloud Drive. “With the two new plans we are introducing today, customers don’t need to worry about storage space—they now have an affordable, secure solution to store unlimited amounts of photos, videos, movies, music, and files in one convenient place.”

    It is always good to read full terms first :-) Usually such cheap plans terms include points that allow to throw you out if you upload too much or use too much bandwidth.

    Why use this instead of Flickr? Flickr already has (pretty much, 1TO) unlimited full rez pics storage, for free.

    And if they will accidently make all your photos public?

    I am also sure that they monitor such actions and if you try to do it for big volume of photos you'll get notice.

    Better not store private nudes on some internet server anyways :) I think they do limit the weekly upload tho.

    I tried to look for file uploading restrictions from terms, but couldn't find any. I have about 6TB videos to upload at the moment. Actually I already started the trial, but I wonder what will happen if the limits "break". Does anyone have experience on "unlimited" cloud services?

    By uploading the photos to their drive, do you know if you give away to them the right to use it? They say on the disclaimer that they reserve themselves to move, modify or remove files but don't specifically mention anything about the rights themselves beside they could sue you if you are uploading already copyrighted material such as films, music...
