@MikeLinn Highlights don't look particularly great on this video. Seems as if the A7S delivers decent quality DSLR-style video, with exceptional low light capabilities, but not more.

Certainly not the dynamic range of a digital cinema camera.

Uncompromined DR would be nice, but I think Philip Bloom didnt use slog2 therefore the camera can do better. Also this is a extreme high iso test which is quite challenging for DR.

I guess the best thing about this camera is it's gonna force panny to do more on their next camera release. That's if Cannon and Nikon keep their regular trend of not showing up. I am in no rush to jump on the GH4 or A7s yet but I am quite exited for what will come next.

I don't really see the "Sony look" in many of these clips. It looks really quite similar to the Blackmagic/Alexa color. Looks pretty good to me...

Yep. Count me in too. Didn't melt my brain, but, ...this looks like some pretty casually shot and casually cc'd footy. For that ....it looks pretty nice to me as well. Darn. Now to come up with some cash, lol. ;)

The DxO Optics Pro v9.5.1 update now supports the Sony RX100 III, Sony A77 II, Nikon J4 and Samsung NX30. In addition, the Elite version of the product also supports the ultra-sensitive Sony A7S full-frame mirrorless camera.

Most important thing enabled by the new update is support for DxO's PRIME denoising engine, which debuted with version 9 late last year. The PRIME engine only works on raw data, so if your camera isn't supported for raw import, you're out of luck. It's a pretty useful tool, though, because it essentially throws a much higher level of processor power at the problem of fighting noise than do most other apps -- not to mention the camera body itself. And it strikes us as particularly relevant with the Sony A7S, a camera whose mission is to unlock sensitivities that are almost unheard of, and make them usable.

There are a lot of great things about this camera. You can read about them on every other site talking about the A7S. The slow motion is great and so are many of it's features. The image on this camera is lovely and customizable but I don't know how any reasonable engineer or reviewer can stand behind a camera you can't even pick up. It's becoming clear since the blackmagic cameras that we are beginning the rolling shutter wars. I don't know if all these shutter issues are manufacturers trying to protect their top cameras by not putting the right technology in the small ones or if we just don't have the ability to fix this in camera yet. All I know is that this is a problem we are going to keep seeing unless we as an online community band together and demand better from all manufacturers.
