We know we can take the 4k footage from a GH4 and make it 1080p 4:4:4 (whether or not it's 10-bit is still up for discussion). But that got me thinking; What about a middle ground? say, 2.5K 4:2:2? Anyone think that might be possible to only chroma subsample every 2 pixels from the 4k instead of every 4 pixels?
Is extended ISO available in video mode?
@soupertrooper extended ISO was available on the GH2 I need to check my GH3 I also would like to know about the GH4 anyone know.
@IVlaverick52 - can you elaborate on how we get 4:4:4 from the 4k downconvert? Thanks.
Do you guys think that the hot shoe is strong enough to have a handle on it? I was thinking about picking this up, but wasn't sure if it would work well - http://www.amazon.com/Smallrig-Cold-Handle-Rubber-Black/dp/B00E8CVM3K/ref=sr_1_25?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1405013316&sr=1-25&keywords=smallrig+shoe
I agree with mos7ies on the handle.
For US guys - seems to be in stock at http://www.adorama.com/IPCDMCGH4.html now.
For all other - we soon will get next batch.
If we had a sixth star in our rating system, the GH4 would get it. More than a simple technological showpiece, it's a formidable, relentless tool that could serve any photographer or videographer with a sort of savage efficacy that appears to know no bounds. If the GH3 ever left any room for doubt, the GH4 does not: there's no serious competition in the SLR and hybrid worlds, especially when it comes to video. To find any better, you're looking at a five-digit budget. The GH4's only real shortcoming? Perhaps a lack of soul...

There is one thing wrong in the above test.
You can adjust the viewfinder. Go to "setup" page 2 "monitor". There you can adjust the monitor. Then hold the GH4 (and GH3) to your eye and then the monitor setup will change to viewfinder setup. Makes sense, that you can only adjust the viewfinder when you look through it.
If anyone is interested in seeing my GH4 series part 2 here it is. That was a great review good job on that one. I don't think the GH4 does that well in low light but it's about what I am used to in my other micro cameras. Here is my GH4 series Part 2
Panasonic’s GH4 is one of the best ILCs you can get these days. Even if you don’t expect to shoot 4K, its 1080p video is stunning.

In terms of video features, the Sony Alpha 7S has one of the more comprehensive offerings on the market. However, it can't keep pace with the Panasonic GH4, which benefits from several more generations of development, and the feedback from professional video shooters.

That video is simply stunning, I think this is the type of stuff that the GH4 really shines with. All that razor sharp resolution is put to good use in a vid like that.
Results of a hiking trip last week. Shot with the Panasonic GH4 camera at 1080p, 60fps and 200mbps. Standard and Cine-V profile. Lenses used were the Panasonic 14-45mm, 45-175mm and Olympus 60mm macro lens. Edited with Edius 5.51 and encoded for the web using Windows Media Video 9.
