thanx , I was just about to post this myself. BTW...it's a FT5 level rumor. I believe that means it's confirmed by one of his trustworthy sources. If this is true ....definitely my next camera ! A real shot across Sony's bow. I'd guess it'll have a high bitrate 1080 as well as high framerates. A week to see.

i wish all camera manufacturers would release their new models at the same time each year, so it would make choosing a lot easier.

and... does it make any sense to spend money on HD now given that all cameras will have 4K soon? is the RX100 iii a waste of money? the IQ on it looks good enough to me...

@kurth: "No wide angle shots, ever" sound bad to me. Plus, if less than half of the pixels on the 1" sensor are actually used for 4k videos, the amount of light used for the exposure also decreases, accordingly.

Latest rumor has the LX8 using a different sensor than the FZ1000.

43rumors did reiterate this morning that the "different sensor" comment came from their top source and have given it FT5 (90% probability). Take that for what it is worth.

Certainly looks like panasonic is trying to get an edge over the competition. should work out nicely for us end users
