On the more serious note, since this topic is called GH5 - does that mean that there won't be no "light version" successor to GH3?

I thought I read somewhere that GH4K will be the premiere model and then GH5 will come soon after with weaker specs...yes, no?

Me too, I have some info about the G4K: some people would be happy with the camera, but others would complain ;-)

The "announced rumored specs" appear to be copied and/or extrapolated from the existing Panasonic cameras which appeared after the release of GH3.

It's not hard to "predict": The camera image processor is Venus Engine IX, The Light Metering System is based on the 1,728-zone multi-pattern (G6, GX7,...), Focus peaking, Autofocus would be optimized to EV -4..18 (GX7), ...

The second camera probably could be the rumored Leica that will be made by Panasonic...

But the bigger one...maybe the GH5 (that will appear after the G4K)? These round lines are much more "consumer" like.

4k 422 10bits can fit inside 200mbps with a decent compression? We need about 100mbps to get a nice 1080p24 at 8bit. Something like a useless 422 8bits can also be expected :( Hope at least a 1080p24 turbo bit. 4k can come as addon.

4K Red One files starts from 28MBps, and they are raw.

200mbps for 4K in 422 is not crap imho. Canon C 300 have a great 1080p @50Mbps :-) Ok that's 8 bit, but consider more resolution can be a little more compressed. For example a 6K at 12:1 looks good more than a 4K at 8:1. You have anyway a 18MP frame versus 8 MP. It came out after many comparison between 4k and 6K raw files. I don't post links about this, but it was vastly observed and tested.

Hope they do a nice camera, i'm into 4/3 system to my neck :-)

actually so glad the body design is the same, my GH3 battery grip and rigs will transfer right over. could see using that external interface unit mainly for tripod use...i'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to adjust my shoulder rig if for it as well. max frame rate of 96fps? really hope that's in 4K like it says. so psyched for this, would suite my work perfectly.
