Amazing stuff. Definitely amazing technology skills for the time. But what's even more amazing is the thought that went into the artistic design of this "robot". The expression on it's face almost says "I'm alive...or am I not?", an early precursor maybe to Blade Runner, and I'm sure a ton of other stuff I'm unaware of, but either way it's a million times more thoughtful of a design for a robot than what the boys at MIT and other modern scientists had done. Lacking an strong emotional side perhaps, they created robots that basically looked like heaps of metal. Not surprisingly that the creators of this "writer automaton" come from what some would consider a more "romantic" era.
