Hey guys, I own a GH2 with 14-42mm kit lens and 14mm 2.5 pancake. I have around 100$ to spare and I'm looking for a new fast lens. Unfortunately, I don't have at my disposal all the wonderful cheap lenses you guys mention on these forums and cause of Custom duties here, buying it online is feasible. I have found a local site that has some lenses. If you guys can have a look at this and suggest what I should get, I'll be very grateful.

Thanks
Can you be more specific, are you looking for old 50mm lens?
As we have good topic on this.
Actually I want advice on what focal length I should get as well. Usual advice I get is get a 50mm first. So yea, but with 2x crop factor on GH2 I want to know what other m 4/3 users have to say. I linked to a list as I can't import one from outside and most lenses mentioned here are not available in India.
There is not much to choose... Zooms like the MINOLTA MD mount 35-135 mm are to heavy IMO for use with MFT camera. The range from 14 to almost 50 mm you already have (with the 14-42mm kit lens). There remains the MAMIYA SEKOR E 135 mm F 3.5. What I miss when I shoot video sometimes is a lens in the 85mm range..
Goal is to have 50mm fast lens, not like kit :-)

Get more money and buy Samyang 85mm if you really want 85mm.
You can get astonishingly good quality for the price Nikon 18mm-55mm : Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX Nikkor Zoom Lens + 15$ adapter on ebay for a great image on a budget and not break your bank. I dont like zooms in general but having if just one, can be very handy. Especially when i have a collection of primes to work with. On occasion the zoom is my best option for the job. Ken Rockwell overview the lens here : http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/18-55-ii.htm
Otherwise i highly recommend an older nikon, minolta, 50mm lens with again ebay adapter.
@Aashay speaking of minolta 1.4 In particular i like the Minolta 58mm 1.4 MC Rokkor PF lens and use it for film and photo all the time. Here is a video of some shots with this lens i posted on my website : http://osgfilms.com/panasonic-gh2-with-minolta-58mm-1-4-mc-rokkor-pf-lens/ This lens with adapter can easily be had for under 100$ and is very good in low light! Nice bokeh too, least to my liking.
What i see on your ebay link / list there is well above $100... ? no go.
Thanks guys for your input. I have also found Minolta Md lenses namely 50mm 1.7 and 1.4 and some K mounts. Also he has Soligor lenses and Fujinian 35mm cctv lens (if that's useful)
Also, would like to have some fast lenses. Do a bit of indie style short films that don't really have lots of lights sometime.
The Minolta 50mm F1.7 looks OK. I got a Yashica 50mm f1.9 for $10 at a used goods store, one of the sharpest lenses I have:
I'd check local used goods stores, you'd be surprised what lenses you'll get for a bargain price. Just make sure you can get the proper M43 adapter.
The Fujinan CCTV lens has it limitations, not really sharp edge to edge, but OK for shallow DOF shots.
Check out Panasonic GH2 with Minolta 58mm 1.4 MC Rokkor PF lens. With cheap ebay adapter you can definitely do under $100.
@jleo.. Thanks for the input. Would you choose Yashica link you sent me over this Minolta one?( Scroll down a bit)

Actually another reason I asked you experts for help is also cause I don't know if all these lenses have suitable adapter or is the adapter suitable for Videography in general. So thanks for linking me to Adapter as well. Pretty cheap. :)
@OSgondar.. Dude that was wicked! I actually saw some test clips from this on youtube yest and now I meet it's maker. What rich organic feeling these lenses have. I loved it. One question- Is it a bitch to focus at 1.4? lol
Pentax 50mm F1.4 SMC in either K Mount or the earlier Takumar M42 screw mount is an excellent lens. Look for the version with 8 blades.
@Aashay Thank You i am happy you liked my video. Its hard to say, I am very good at follow focusing or keeping my hand ready to rack at all times. I like focusing on this lens, big beefy ring on it makes it easy but don't take my word for it. All lenses require a bit of practice to get it down perfect as all lenses act differently but i did not find this more difficult than most, if anything easier. So no, not "a bitch" and i often shoot wide open so yes even at 1.4, most of my video is probably at 1.4 I just use an ND filter to keep the bokeh and shallow dof.
