@TGDude, before you go with the NP batteries, do that math with the 15000 power bank priced at $84, that makes a huge difference and the powerbank can help act as a counterbalance weight on the back of your rig for handheld stuff, taking weight off the front :)

I just purchased the DMW-DCC8, along with the Anker Astro3. Just wanted to make sure before I connect anything.. It should be okay as is, right? Just connect to Coupler @ 9v, and be fine? Just a little worried, and want to make sure i'll be fine before I connect anything.

@brandonmrsh Some people don't like to do it and I can see why. An extra half volt is alot when you're only dealing with 8.5 but I've been running two cameras with an ATC 15000 at 9v for a long time now with no worries.

@feha I don't want to post the exact same thing in your thread, so I figured I would ask here. Do you know if this will hurt my camera at all, plugging the Anker Astro3 directly into the camera @ 9v setting? From previous posts here it appears that it won't hurt it, but the last thing I can afford to do is have my camera break.

@brandonmrsh I'm not sure it will work, as the 9V is stated 2A there might not be any drop voltage to below 9v. I never tested to connect anything to GH2/GH3 above 8.5v so it might work but test it at your own risk. Some people reported using 9v, but there might be a voltage drop when they connect GH2. Also some newly charged batteries may have higher voltage than it is stated. Example Sony NP-F batteries have 8.4V newly charged than they drop to 7.2V (as a declared voltage). But I'm not sure about Anker Astro3 does it have internal voltage stabilizer or not ?!

There might be a risk with cheap batteries if declared 9V and newly charged might give over 10V, than this will fry your camera.

Hey guys, need some help here to make sure I'm sane. Yes, I've read all topics and all pages I could find about this and it's so much confusing info out there on what actually works as an external battery solution to the GH2.

I'm looking into buying Globalmediapro batteries (AB-mount, heard very good stuff about them) but I'm not sure which plate or pinch or whatever you call it to use with the batteries. The Dynacore looks good, otherwise I just know about the Lanparte one.

I've ordered the BM PocketCam which is 12v in, most plates have a 12v out. I also got a Zacuto EVF that runs on Canon LP-E6 (a dummy for that comes with the dynacore plate) and a Neway 7" which I got here. Canon on that one as well, but there is a 7-24v input behind the plate and I've tested with a 15v plugged in from the wall (EU) and it worked good. Most plates have 15v out as well as 12v.

But until I get my BM cam, is this what I need with the OEM coupler? http://www.switronix.com/products?page=shop.product_details&category_id=41&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=152

If so, then I need to know what the D-tap outputs on the battery plate. And then want to add a converter for HD-SDI to HDMI, which usually is 5v. BM Hyperdeck is 12v+.

So... Which plate to run AB-mount batteries, and is my theory correct about what I need to power the GH2?

I saw these V lock Batteries on Calumet's website (USA chain photo store). They are currently on sale and seem too good to be true. Does anyone have experience with them? They look like cheap batteries rebranded, except for the one with the LCD display. That charger looks pretty good though. Does anyone have experience with this brand or similar looking model of V lock batteries? TIA.
