Seems to use Sony sensor (ala GH3) and will have Wi-Fi.
That's kinda neat.
Kodak should do a "prosumer" digital cinematography camera - shaped like a super 8 camera with an m43 sensor - inline eyepiece and 2 full size hdmi outs. Maybe a wavelet raw codec?
... and find a cute pair of filmmaking hipsters on the street to market this "prosumer" digital cinematography camera - shaped like a super 8 camera as the DigitalViennette.
Once released, it will offer beautiful light leaks, a ton of filmic grain, hairs and scratchas and the joy of real 18 frames per second! Help us making this dream come true and unleash the creative power of a desperat army of filmakers, currently waiting for the GH4 (even though the GH5 is already on the market. Only Andrew Reid knows why they dropt the 4 but he is under NDA (No Dump Argument) and can't say anything at the moment)

Good news, the Kodak S1 has a mic jack input!
Doesn't do live HDMI out though: https://twitter.com/KodakPIXPRO/status/428541014379212801
But hopefully the rest of this camera holds up as a decent choice for filmmaking.
@Alex, 4 is a superstitious unlucky number in some asian cultures, like 13 for some english cultures. It's not some camera conspiracy, it's just cultural superstition.
S-1 does have its charms; some of the Picture Effects are interesting, and the ability to record Full HD timelapse movies is very unusual. The camera's compatibility with the ever-growing (and already pretty comprehensive) Micro Four Thirds lens system is a huge benefit, too
The quality from stills are very decent, I like the colors.

in chinese. the word 4 has the same pronunciation as the word "death". in japan i think 4 is also unlucky, but can't remember why.
S1 looks like a decent µ4/3 camera within $500 price range. Despite of some drawbacks, it's encouraging to see: apparently good imaging capabilities, the use of the micro USB port for battery charging, sensor-shift image stabilization, intervalometer for time-lapse movies, and WiFi connectivity.
The Kodak PIXPRO S-1 offers very good value for money, as well as built in Wi-Fi, and with it using the popular Micro Four Thirds lens mount, there the widest range of lenses available of any mirrorless system, with lenses available from Olympus, Panasonic, Sigma, Tamron, Samyang, and more.
