    No lightning connector on Rode's iXY means iPhone 5 users are left out in the cold as well. I'm not sure how this will work out for Rode-- what self-respecting iPhone owner doesn't upgrade to the latest model immediately?

    Seriously though, I'd be more likely to get a dedicated recorder like a Tascam DR-05 or Zoom H1, then I don't have to worry about draining my phone's battery or stopping recording when I someone calls me.

    Tascam have a mic for iOS for some quite time now: http://tascam.com/product/im2/

    (and now I saw in Tascam's site that they have a XY version too: http://tascam.com/product/im2x/

    And I have a Zoom H1. Good little thing, but the mics are not the best (in some videos that I've recorded in concerts - not professionally - the GH2 body mics performed better).

    This mic is cool, but it relies on Apple's obsolete connector type. Also why drain phone's battery? It's not like we can swap the battery on the fly.
