Firmware v2.0 is available
Anyone knows if XAVC S in this camera is 422 or 420?
Lets hope for a fw update for the a6000( XAVC S)
BH agent says only NTSC in US for cameras purchased in the US so no PAL 1080 50/25 via FW V2.00 :-( ? ? ? ?
It seems every camera purchase these days is based on hope - the weakest of all concepts.
@MikeLinn FZ1000 does not support 1080 25/50 shooting in the US.
Hi, I was looking to get a "all in one" camera, and had my eyes on the LX100, but then I've been told that 50p has very low bandwidth in order to do slow motion, and I've just found the RX10 with the XAVC update which seems to deliver a bit more on that area. I must say I'm very impressed with a few videos I've seen so far. Very crisp 1080, 50p and even 120fps @ 720 which might be a cool option to have. I have a few questions though before I make a decision, does the RX100 mk3 have the same quality? The videos I've seen from it are not as crisp as the ones from the RX10. But I might prefer to have something more portable if delivers the same. How does the RX10 perform in lowlight with the new codec? Is it good enough @ 3200 ISO or becomes very noisy? And last question, does the stabiliser work as as steady cam or sort of? Will it be enough to follow people walking with the cam? Or still need a proper steady cam?
Hi vulgatron (great name btw) The RX100 mk3 will be better for lowlight use. The RX10 is fantastic in great/good light but the 1" combined with the "slower" f2.8 lens wil give you VERY noisy videos @ 3200 iso. I find its pretty great up to 1600 iso. The RX10's video image is a lot better in lowlight with the XAVC update (I found it to now match a GH3 with a f2.8 lens) but if you're only looking for lowlight the rx100 mk3 or LX100 might be a better choice as they both have faster lens to the sensors.
@Mimirsan Thanks for the reply, I'm really impressed with the videos I've seen of the RX10, but not much stuff on high ISO, although in normal light conditions it looks like it's better than the rmk3 although they share sensor and codecs. I'm looking for a good all around camera, and budget being an issue I'm considering the "all in one" options. I like the size of the rx100mk3 ( I had the first model when it first came out) but for the same price I wonder if the LX100 would be better. Regarding the RX10 I liked that it has a bigger range of focals, water sealed, and mic-headphones sockets.
I know the quality of the linked video is not good, but I would like to achieve those kind of shots
RX10 is dropping is price slowly due to new cameras
what about the release dates? some sellers list it for April, others end of May, others May/June I need this camera in the first week of June, would love to test it out though some weeks prior to June... Sony is also behind with my ordered GM 24-70 2.8 lense...hmm...
I think you posted in wrong topic, it is old camera one.
