For a $100 less than the above you get exactly the same specs + screen, keyboard and battery:
Yes, it doesn't fit in your pocket, but its relatively light and a lot more versatile. Plus, your pocket will be less empty of cash.
Mark, your comment has no sense at all.
Why get bad notebook (as it is bad in everything), instead of specifically made tiny PC?
Purpose of this thing is to take it with you to places where you already have keyboard, mouse and screen.
Sorry, your comment makes even less sense. The laptop has exactly the same specs as the box you have touted - so how is it bad "in every way"? Hyperbole does not suit you (or anyone else). And the little notebook is much cheaper, and has a screen and keyboard. So, you can take it anywhere even to places with no keyboard, mouse and screen and even if there is no AC! And if you want a bigger screen, it has an HDMI and usb-c port, just like the rip-off box. There is zero miniaturization in the box - they just left off the keyboard and screen - and want to charge more! No special engineering ingenuity, nothing.
"specifically made" - LOL. That is exactly why it is outrageously priced - $100 more! Low volume.
The economies of scale in production by Asus, selling in 1500 stores and on line make it possible to sell the same internal hardware at a lower price with more features. Capitalism at its best, and a forum at its best so people can call out promotions that make no sense.
And the "specifically made" box is not even available now. I guess the notebook is "generally" made?
Mark, if you do not understand how some things are used you do not need to make very strange assumptions.
There is zero miniaturization in the box - they just left off the keyboard and screen - and want to charge more!
