That video @Tobsen posted suggests this camera will be another disappointment. Aside from being shaky and mostly out of focus, it looks to have bad aliasing issues, muddy compression, and severely limited dynamic range - apparently worse than the GH2.
It seems that new full frame sensor used in Nikon 600, Sony a99 and Sony Nex-Vg900, has 14,2 stops of DR. Source: http://www.dxomark.com/index.php/Publications/DxOMark-Reviews/Nikon-D600-sets-high-bar-for-sensor-image-quality/Comparisons
@Vitaliy_Kiselev I received the PK-NEX adapters for my K-mount lenses with and without aperture ring and pre-ordered the VG900 so maybe by late October or early November it will ship. Here is a photo of the two adapters on my small SMC Pentax-M 20mm F4 and 10-24mm Tamron.
14,2 stops of DR, that would be on par with the BMDCC :)
I don't think is a good idea to use the actual available PK-NEX adapter on the VG900, as you maybe know, the VG900 have a new E-mount to support full frame lens, you need to equip the VG900 of the Sony E-Mount adapter and put the PK-NEX adapter to the another Adapter... it would be more nice to wait a true E-mount FullFrame-PK adapter
i don't thing he can have any real issues with such adapters. Plus they are cheap.
can cause mechanical vignetting ?
can cause mechanical vignetting ?
Yep, but for this they must have inside diameter much smaller than emount one, and this is not the case.
Yes but too much air space between the FullFrame Mount and the Lens can result some issues no ?

Nope. By idea it must not cause any issues, as in SLRs same space is present. :-)

The moire is really bad on the pebble stones in the above original clips
curious to know the maximum iso for video. if this camera goes to 30db gain it will be iso 3200 like the vg20.
Here is a video shot at Photokina at the Sony stand and the VG900 demo starts at 30:00.
I downloaded the two MTS videos and I saw the moire / color fringing. The nikon D3200 has some similar issues and I did a try with Neatvideo and I cleaned it. If this Sony fringing is just on color channels it can be cleaned with Neatvideo, but if it hurts the luma channel, the color fringing will be cleaned but the Y moire will remain. Interesting test to do.
@fatpig where did you get that info about 14.2 stops of DR , from what i have seen , it does not look like it
14.2 stops in RAW ISO 100 STILLS.
Gave a go to VG900 image to try to improve DR:
Shadows to much crushed or ok?
Moire on those video samples is really noticeable.
What are the possibilities of the VG30 doing better in this area? I'm not good with sensor mp analysis so looking for some insight from those that do.
If Sony develops a FSxxx with fyull frame sensor probably it will be moire/aliasing free.
I bet a FF FSxxx would cost about $10,000 . Here are a few more VG900 videos:
