If only it could be hacked to remove the 30min limit I'm so buying one...
Yep, it is certain candidate :-)
I bought a FZ150 for a friend and had a play with it before handing it over. Really great camera..pretty good in lowlight (in comparison to other brands) for video. The zoom is extra handy. Evf is godawful but least one gets one in this price bracket. This new model looks to be even better.
Can anybody who owned the predescessor cameras comment on live hdmi ability of those models?
Downloaded the original 1080p, and the image is not nearly as sharp as i thought it would be... other videos seemed a lot better. What do you think?
Bad rendered/compressed file..........
Check top post
i did, and see only amazon....
According to B&H specs, it is 1/8" (or 3.5mm) mic input. Can anyone confirm this? This would be great if GH3 goes this route, too.
Add to it 1.7x converter :-) Will be fun.
Camera is now in stock at Amazon:

Any 24p on this cam?
The US User Manual part number VQT4H64 confirms on page 26 that only the MP4 is limited in length with the FZ200. AVCHD is unlimited.

There was a confirming report on Amazon US reviews, and another on a DPreview discussion.
Most probably it is same 4Gb limit.
A report on this thread, though not particularly definite: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1033&thread=42340015
User R.Davenport on Amazon US left this review text: "It does provide unlimited video recording using AVCHD Progressive. Only limit is your card size, no 29 minute cutoff. The MPEG-4 does have the cutoff, but that is mandated by the type of file created. MPEG-4 creates one file and therefore is limited by FAT32. AVCHD creates multiple linked files so doesn't run up again the file limitations of the cards"
I will buy one and give it a thorough workout :)
Is it just me, or can others see a drop in quality, specifically resolution, when the FZ200 1080p videos are compared with the FZ150 1080p videos. For example, here are three FZ200:

compared with FZ150:

I get the same impression from my LX7. I am not seeing the quality I expect for 1080p video from it. And there is a lot of moire, too. Here is my ISO test chart for the LX7 in 1080p, -1 sharpening, -2 noise reduction:

Thanks for your thoughts...
I suggest to wait for MTS.
Here is an FZ200 MTS, from the Budapest European roll-out:

@Vitaliy_Kiselev Hardly a review. I don't think they did more than play with a demo model -- looks more like a preview.
Here is the central area of my ISO chart shwoing Moire and Resolution with the FZ150 and the FZ200. Both in 1080p PSH mode. The FZ200 is a little sharper, and gives more moire
I am really impressed with the FZ200, it is an amazing Bridge... the zoom is seductive, quality is good, and ISO1600 is what I will use indoors, both in RAW and video. There is a little color and resolution loss above ISO400, however switching down the noise reduction (to -2) makes a huge difference (see the interesting NR images in the Japanese review at http://is.gd/AcA3oO )
