i am planning to buy some low light lens for my Panasonic gh2.
i looking for a wide angle 4mm 6mm 8mm 9mm 10mm 12mm 14mm / mid range 20mm 25mm 30mm 35mm 45mm 50mm 55mm / long range 70mm 80mm 85mm 90mm 105mm any of these with Apature f 2.8 f 2.5 f2.0 f1.8 f1.4 f1.2 f1.0 f0.95 f0.8 f0.5...
looking for superb sharpness and bokeh with low light.
i have some of these lenses in mind...
3 of them from ebay.
do they really work well with low light video anyone tested???
lets discuss,...a complete coverage from 4mm to 105mm less than Apature f2.8 to f0.8?????????
Good post to look at : http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/859/video-friendly-lenses-for-lumix-dslrs/p1
For extreme low light lenses :
wider than 12mm, there is nothing
at 12mm you have Olympus f2, or SLR Magic Hyper prime f1.6
at 20mm Panasonic 1.7, Sigma 1.8
at 25mm Nokton 0.95 and Leica 1.4
at 35mm, the lighter I know of is Voigtlander 35 f1.2 for Leica M mount, there are a lot more from f1.4 and upward
at 50mm the lighter I know of is Canon 0.95 for Leica M
at 85mm there is Canon fd 1.2, Nikon 1.4
Then it's more f2 or f2.8 (Canon, Nikon, Leica, ...)
what u think about this lens? anyone used?? samples?
this lens is not very popular, I don't think you will find a lot of people here that has it. There are a lot of good 50 mm f1.4 lenses.
Philip Bloom tried it, and liked it : http://philipbloom.net/2010/03/10/review-of-noktor-f0-95-hyperprime-50mm-lens-for-micro-four-thirds/
But you know, there is something called Google that helps for that sort of questions, just write "Noktor 50 .95 review", you will find what you need. Searching on eBay is not the best approach to get info ...
These 2 are the best lowlight super sharp lens i believe 10 blades for bokeh
anyone has these 2 together??
f2.8 Fisheye lenses might be an option as well. The image quality in the center is very good (you need only the center). I used the Sigma 4.5mm and the 8mm. I can recommend those. I also ordered a Walimex fisheye from ebay and had to return it. They are only f3.5 anyway ...
at 4.5mm Sigma 4.5mm 2.8 circular fisheye (only for EX. TELE but still wider than Tokina @ 11mm in normal mode. Needs rectiliniar correction in post like the optics compensation filter in After Effects)
at 10mm Sigma f2.8
at 10.5mm Nikkor f2.8
also: at 11mm Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 (for Nikon, to gain control over aperture with an adapter that has an aperture ring. Not very convenient but still better then Kipon adapter for Canon EF mount)
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/341297-REG/Pentax_C60812_C60812_8mm_to_48mm.html it has to be modified but its shocking what it can pickup in the dark. and its a zoom. i have like 5 leica primes and i just find fixed lenses boring now.
You don't need complete coverage and only low light lenses.
It is much better to go from the actual tasks.
As it is main beginners mistake going for complete coverage from ultrawide to extreme tele.
i am planning to order
Canon FD 85mm F/1.2 L Lens & Voigtlander NOKTON 25mm f/0.95
for my gh2, are they good enough to cover a range in low light???
Vitality ------- i have a doubt ,..
which lens produce sharpest picture in gh2??? which is the best zoom lens which can also work in lowlight for gh2???
Let's not turn already controversial topic into a mess about everything.
I already told my recommended range:
Panasonic 14mm F2.5, Panasonic 20mm F1.7, Samyang 35mm F1.4, Olympus 45mm F1.8, Samyang 85mm F1.4
Here is what I would get
SLR Magic HyperPrime 12mm 1.6
Voigtlander Nokton 25mm 0.95
Voigtlander Nokton 50mm 1.1 with M mount adapter.
But really for the 50mm you be better off getting any $99 50mm 1.4 vintage lens.
On a full frame this would equal to
24mm
50mm
100mm
For me manual focus and folow focus performance is not very important. But overall size, sharpness and weight are. This is why I choose 14mm over 12mm SLR Magic any time (and I have both).
There is also the Olympus 12 2.0 of you like focus by wire for some reason.
where i can buy 12mm 1.6??? i am from middle east.........
i am planning to order these tonight,..let me see i can change my 12mm f2 to 12mm 1.6...
Canon FD 85mm F/1.2 L Lens Canon FD Lens Adapter for Olympus E-PM1 PL3 PL2 P3 P2 Panasonic GH2 GF3 GF2 G3 Voigtlander NOKTON 25mm f/0.95 OLYMPUS M ZUIKO Digital ED 12mm F2 Rokinon 7.5mm F3.5 Silver UMC Fisheye Lens for Micro Four Thirds panasonic
any other better suggestions???
yes i am asking the same ---which lenses do better sharpness, Bokeh and low light performance????
i heard from my professional friend any lens with 8 blade or over can give better bokeh. he said to go for 9 blade or 10 blade lenses....any suggestions or ideas???
which fisheye does better performance in lowlight???
samyang 8mm f3.5 or rokinon 7.5mm f3.5 any lens with f2.8 or below???
The Canon FD 85mm 1.2 is overrated and over priced. Samyang 85mm 1.4 might be a better deal! The Canon is very Big and heavy and very soft on The fast end. And The Price on eBay is insane!
Why don't you start off with the Nokton and the Kit Lens then see what you need later down the road.
i am looking for a second hand canon fd 85mm 1.2 around 1000-1500 $..........can samyang 85mm 1.4 can compete with canon fd 85mm 1.2??? in terms of Bokeh and sharpness???
So, the Canon FD 50mm f1.8 is a great.
What about the CCTV lens? are very cheap, but vignetting.
Guys, I think about closing this topic.
As it quickly turn into mess about everything.
Stop talking with yourself and disussing all the lenses in on topic. Find ptoper topics about wide lenses, tele lenses and specific lenses. Read them first.
well, The Samyang is so cheap, just Order it on Top :-)
