The Biden administration on Friday sharply increased tariffs on Chinese imports, including a 100% duty on electric vehicles, to increase protection for its strategic industries.
The U.S. Trade Representative's office said many of the tariffs, including a 100% duty on Chinese electric vehicles, a 50% duty on solar panels and a 25% duty on steel, aluminum, electric vehicle batteries and basic minerals, will take effect on Sept. 27 this year.
