I have been patiently waiting for the Dual I.S. firmware update that was suppose to arrive in February 2016 for the Panasonic 45-175 along with two other lens. I can find no information about when or even if they will ever arrive besides originally posting it will arrive in February 2016. Does anyone know what is going on with these three updates? I really like the 45-175mm lens, and really look forward to Dual I.S. for it. If it will never occur will someone please tell me.
Yes, indeed. The update was promised for that lens and the other Panasonic PZ "kit" lens. Power zooms can be very handy. The other lens they promised to update is the 14-140mm version 1. I have all three, and the GX85.
Good idea is to use existing topic for this lens.
Vitaliy, I looked a various topics to move this thread to but they don't fit the point of my question. When will the three panasonic lens updates promised for Feb, 2016 be updated to Dual I.S. Why is there no direct questions to or from Panasonic about this. If there is, I can't find them. Maybe Driftwood know what the status of these lens are. Maybe they are no longer going to update them since we now have Dual I.S. 2. I would like to know. Where do you suggest we move this topic without loosing it inside of a topic that is not about Dual I.S.
Possible topics I looked at included: Are all POWER OIS lenses unsuitable for handheld shooting; Panasonic GX80, GX85, or even GX7 Mark II in Japan; Is there OIS jitter in Panasonic 12-35/2.8 and 45-175 lenses; Panasonics collapsible X lenses (14-42mm pancake and 45-175mm.
I don't see any topic that this question fits under.
Normally we just have one topic about one lens, with rare exceptions

Can you find Panasonic statement about firmware updates?
As may be you just though about wrong lens and it was 45-150mm one that got update actually?
Here is proof that Panasonic made the promise, and did not deliver. Which also makes the case that this issue deserves it own thread. Those other lenses were supposed to be updated in February
Can we find some official Panasonic PR or such?
That list of updates and the schedule of updates at the bottom of the linked page is direct from Panasonic. It is, or was, official Panasonic update chart. The linked page just passes it on.
Yes, but where is the source page or PR?
Are you questioning the authenticity? just curious, or what? I saw that chart when it came out. Whether Panasonic still has it up, I don't know. They obviously have an incentive not to maintain it, given it shows they have reneged. I found the link that shows what they promised. Now you know what to search for if for whatever reason you need the original statement. Are you surprised that a profit maximizing entity is perhaps hiding an embarrassing reneged commitment?
Are you questioning the authenticity?
I want to see source, for now we have one place. Let's find more.
I want to find Panasonic PR or page with this chart, so may be we can bring more attention to problem.

Always good before blaming is to get whole picture clear.
I agree. here's another more direct Panasonic source, from when the updates were promised - http://lumixlounge.com/dual-is-firmware/
Of all the ones promised for February - none have been updated.

This one is bad. But we need to try to find more info about this February promise to hit harder.
DPReview, which just repeats press releases in their "News", states the February date: https://www.dpreview.com/articles/3339650904/panasonic-issues-lens-firmware-updates-to-enable-dual-i-s-with-lumix-dmc-gx8 sometimes they link the actual press release, but not here.

The smoking gun - a Panasonic site with the update schedule for the lenses: http://shop.panasonic.com/dual-is
Just checked back on site and saw all the activity. Thanks markr041. Yes, the Panasonic link that gives the Dual I.S. future updates is on the shop panasonic site at: http://shop.panasonic.com/dual-is
Panasonic says in small print that the date of the update is subject to change, so why doesn't Panasonic give us more info about when and if, for those users that have the four future (Feb. 2016 now past) to be updated lens. Then I could wait patiently. For example, I like the 100-3000mm lens and will continue to use it even knowing that it will Never be updated to Dual I.S. I just use it shooting with a high shutter-speed to get great pictures.
Well, both the 14-42 and 14-140 has been replaced by better options. Which support dual IS.
The 14-42 PZ seems to be the only one which doesn't have a newer option available.
The 45-175 PZ and the 14-42 PZ have no "better" alternatives. In any case, Panasonic made a promise to update four lenses, which many people own, and they have not done that nor announced anything long after the scheduled date of update. Panasonic's credibility and commitment is at issue.
Panasonic communication is clearly broken. On falling market each and every manager do not want to do anything meaningful fearing that if he makes error he lost his job.
Thanks for making this more public.
Another day and another visit. Thank you Vitality for getting 43rumors involved. Maybe one day we will hear something, I just won't hold my breath till then. The two PZ lens should have been updated sooner as they were Power O.I.S. lens and the other Power O.I.S. lens were updated. I like when you say "Panasonic communication is clearly broken," I don't believe it is "broken," I believe it is deliberate. Ahh, another topic ;-).
