This lens is expensive, but does look good.
Remember, Japanese companies managers like to visit top restaurant after work, and they can't drive to it on something else than Tesla. You need to just live with it.
Yes, the lens is expensive. It's really, really good, though. We wanted something to pair with the Leica 42.5, and this fits the bill perfectly. Every bit the same quality. Autofocus is excellent for photography, not great for video, but no worse than the 42.5. I can leave it to the professionals with studios and testing equipment to provide technical comparisons and reviews, but my subjective impression is that this may very well be the top lens in the MFT world now.
I wish it were cheaper, but it's good enough that I'm going to keep it in spite of the price.

Centre sharpness is high from wide open (f/1.2) up to f/11. It is only the narrowest aperture available, f/16, which seems to suffer from diffraction issues, being slightly softer when viewed at 100%. The edges aren't as sharp as the center, with sharpest results at f/5.6-f/11.
